Context
: A clear impoverishment
of the Lebanese population is taking
place since 2008. The middle classes
are touched by the political situation
and its consequences on the economy.
In the suburbs of Roueisset, Mission
Enfance has built a free health
clinic (dispensary) in 2008 and
finances the doctor in charge who
treats, with its team, about 1.200
patients each month. A three year
engagement that allows Sister Hanan
to work on other social projects
in this shanty-town.
Also, each month, many families
of refugees arrive in Roueisset,
from Iraq. They are without ressource
and receive no help. Giving the
mothers cooking lessons would allow
them to find work.
Since 2006, Mission Enfance has
been supporting, through sponsoring,
the children of the Deir Al Ahmar
social centre. We have started the
social centre's construction in
2009, and will be finalizing the
second half in 2010.
Aim
of projects : Offer
a normal childhood and a steady
environment to the underpriviledged
children of Beirut and Deir Al Ahmar.
Give medical care to poor families
of the Roueisset neighbourhood and
support the families of refugees
arrived in Lebanon from Iraq.
